need to check things first.  Bug 270353 has a lot of packages to review.

I've checked getline() ones. The "const" bugs doesn't affect us before GCC 4.4.x.

please dont post comments about blockers.  use the blocker field that already exists for bugs and mark it blocking this one.

ive gone through the backlog and added outstanding fixes to 2.10.1-r1.  so it should be good to go.  of course, there are a bunch of other packages that should get stabilized first as sen in the dependency list ...
