Description Ben de Groot (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-20 23:43:55 UTC
This bug is for x11-misc/xvidcap-1.1.6-r2 stabilization, but bug #242950 (ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20070616-r20 stabilization) is holding us up. But xvidcap-1.1.6-r2 is needed for intltool-0.40.5 stabilization (bug #242660).

sed -i -e 's/-lswscale/-lavcodec/g' configure

depending on swscaler enabled ffmpeg or not appears to do the trick... please double check.

or do this to configure.in and inherit autotools, for now eautoreconf does nothing.
Comment 2 Peter Alfredsen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-11-04 15:16:39 UTC
We're changing target to ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20081014, might as well go for the gold.
Comment 3 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-12-07 21:30:14 UTC
I've punted 1.1.4_rc* from tree since it was entirely broken due other bugs. There is no more stable version of xvidcap in tree. This way users won't
hit the same bugs over and over again.

But sure, let's try to stable one soon as ffmpeg allows it.

Freenode, #gentoo-amd64-dev:

<@ColdWind> ssuominen: 1.1.7 has a bug which prevents dettaching the window from the target region

Maybe we should close this as WONTFIX and leave xvidcap to ~arch only for now?
Comment 5 Santiago M. Mola (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-12-07 21:38:42 UTC
I'm all for it. xvidcap has, at least, one regression. And stability problems like ocasional crashes and locks are still present.

Closing.
