Description Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2009-01-06 02:03:09 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #238694 +++

This bug will be the stabilization bug for glib-2.18.3 and gtk+-2.14.6 (yes, it'll get bumped before stabilization and will be fast-tracked as a bug fix).
Initially it will serve as collecting all the stabilization requests of other maintainers that needs to happen to not cause breakage with those packages not being properly forwards compatible with gtk+-2.14.

Basically making sure all fixes for bugs revealed in bug 238694 are stabilized before gtk+-2.14 stabling proceeds.

Note to self: libgnomeui-2.24 needs to be stabilized too at the very same time due to bug 238737 (the obvious reason - VFS filechooser backend moved to inside gtk+ and the semi-private API in 2.12 that libgnomeui-2.22 filechooser backend used is gone).
Bug 238694 also says some gtk-sharp stuff might need to go at the same time.
Comment 2 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2009-01-07 02:11:51 UTC
gtkmm-2.12.7 (and 2.12.1 for arm/sh) were fixed without revbump to be compatible with gtk+-2.14 (and staying compatible with 2.12) - therefore no simultaneous stabilization of gtkmm-2.14 is necessary and we can leave the dev-cpp gtk/gnome stack out from initial stabilization for now.

Sorry a lot, I couldn't merge old gtk/gnome-sharp because of a different problem (I will explain it to Peter Alfredsen (loki_val), that kindly mailed me asking for the problem, when I had more time (I am now too busy, sorry))

Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks to all for your great work

The stabilization of this is handled together with the rest of GNOME-2.24 in bug 260063 now, as it's not going to be done in multiple steps anymore.
