Finally fixed. Sorry about the delay, but it took me 5 attempts to work out that cvs was changing my patch when it goes going up :(

Jakub I did a search of the database and didn't fine bug 124676. The only reason that I even know about this bug is because you marked 124949 as a duplicate. Even now I still can't find this bug with the search terms that I have used. I have tried baselayout failed patch, failed patch baselayout, baselayout patch, and baselayout failed. My sync was at most a couple of days old. So since I didn't find a bug about the problem I didn't think to make another sync. Why didn't my search terms find this bugreport? Even Failed Patch: baselayout, produced zero bugs in the search of the database. It may be just me, but it looks like there is a problem with the search algorithm being used to find bugreports.
you forgot to change the status search criteria to include closed bugs
My personal belief: searches should include closed bugs by default. Would reduce the number of duplicates, I think. At least, it would have prevented me filing a dupe on this bug.
well if you searched for that request, you may come across the open bug 115796
Alas this is what I get for using the opening page layout. After reading spanky's response I poked around a little bit and found that the page under the search link isn't the same search form thats on the opening page layout. There I was given the option of open, closed or all bugs. Maybe that search layout under the link search should be used on the opening page so that others won't miss closed bugs and make duplicate reports as well.
