This is my first bug, so sorry if this is wrong. As of my last sync(30-07-2005 2:00am) proftpd-1.2.10-r7 became stable so I went to emerge it, obviously it didn't work. ftpbase is in the DEPEND of proftpd-1.2.10-r7 ebuild. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge --sync #As of 30-07-2005 @ 2am 2. emerge proftpd -p 3. Actual Results: These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [blocks B ] <net-ftp/proftpd-1.2.10-r6 (is blocking net-ftp/ftpbase-0.00) [ebuild N ] net-ftp/ftpbase-0.00 [ebuild U ] net-ftp/proftpd-1.2.10-r7 [1.2.10-r1] Expected Results: These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild U ] net-ftp/proftpd-1.2.10-r7 [1.2.10-r1] (I think)
You need to unmerge the old version first, then it will work. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 97422 ***

Ok it is resolved by unmerging the old version. But i think it is not really serious to do this with servers which are live and with high traffic. (In reply to comment #1) > You need to unmerge the old version first, then it will work. > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 97422 ***
