Description Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2021-03-08 22:37:46 UTC
Upstream have an active gtk3 branch in their git repo where this apparently is already ported to libcanberra_gtk3.
Comment 1 Andreas Sturmlechner gentoo-dev 2021-09-04 14:21:45 UTC
mail-client/claws-mail-4.0.0 is masked for testing since 2021-07-10.
Comment 2 Lars Wendler (Polynomial-C) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2021-09-06 08:50:05 UTC
Problem is that claws-mail-4.0.0 has quite some drawing issues. I do not want to unmask the 4.0.0 release because it's not ready for general usage.
I hope that with a 4.0.1+ release this will become better.

Ah, thanks, I was wondering if it was safe to try it yet. I guess I'll wait for now.

I just noted that mail-client/claws-mail-4.1.0-r1[appindicator] still depends on dev-libs/libindicate:3[gtk] which also depends on GTK2.

Addressed by mail-client/claws-mail-4.1.1-r1, stabilised in bug 891493.
Comment 7 Bernard Cafarelli gentoo-dev 2024-01-28 10:10:53 UTC
I plan on keeping gtk+2 branch of claws-mail around for a while, but to move forward here we could drop support for USE=libcanberra in this branch?
Comment 8 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2024-01-28 12:40:44 UTC
I guess it will be the best option for keeping the old versions around more time :/
