Description barrie backhurst 2005-05-02 14:53:59 UTC
Install on Athlon 1700+ xp,1Gb ram, 120Gb IDE disk partitioned hda1=/boot,hda2=swap,hda3=extended,hda5=/(logical),hda6=/home(logical)
This was a stage3 install using minimal CD, had previously tried several stage2 installs, each breaking when compiling "emerge -emptytree system", never at the same point though.
Have run memtest86, which did not show any errors
The actual error generated is:
"The bug is not reproducible, so it is likely a hardware or os problem
make[2]: *** [drivers/input/serio/i8042.o] Error1
