I use mldonkey and its GUI on different computers and for this reason I think it's useful to wrote an ebuild that emerge only mldonkey gtk2 embedded GUI without compile all sources. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

I like the idea! But - it cannot be done like this (IMHO), because users will still be able to install gui with original mldonkey ebuild. Therefore, best way I think, would be to add USE flag for mldonkey ebuild script - let's say "nodeamon" - and install only gui with this. My 2 cents :) PS. I'm also using one mldonkey server and couple of clients on few machines. Definietly - this is a good idea!! :) Regards, Przemek
thz for you comment ;) I've made a modded mldonkey ebuild with a "guionly" useflag, see here for more details http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84100#c35 (my ebuild make a better and cleaner, imho, doc and bin installation accordingly with mldonkey documentation too)
I added my 2 cents in this thread: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102097 maybe this bug should be closed now? since the one from link is something similar maybe this would be better to work on one, not two? Cheers, Przemek
Implemented via guionly use flag, closing the bug.
