After this update here, my scanner Epson Perfection V200 Photo stopped working. Many older Epson scanners are not compatible with iscan 3.x.x.x versions. A while ago there was a discussion to prevent this situation, please see here https://bugs.gentoo.org/715420
Wouldn't masking iscan-3* solve your problem? I do realize iscan-2 and iscan-3 (actually imagescan) are incompatible.

Looks like upstream sources disappeared already for some time now. I believe they preffered software now is https://support.epson.net/linux/en/epsonscan2.php
All sanity-check issues have been resolved
