I'm currently installing Gentoo installing on a box at home and I've found a prob:

At the step "Progressing from Stage2 to Stage3", the emerge system stops with an error at /dev-libs/openssl-0.9.7e. Errormessage is: "You need perl 5". 

I think the problem is that emerge system tries to install openssl before installing perl.

I've solved this problem by emerging perl by hand and after it restarting emerge system again.
