Fsck looks for something called 'fsck.resierfs' at boot, while the binary is called 'fsck.reiserfs'. e2fsprogs is 1.27 reiserfsprogs is 3.6.3 Similar to bug# 6819, btw. Just another misspelling.
try `emerge rsync ; emerge e2fsprogs` and see if you still have the problem
I unmasked the latest e2fsprogs (1.27-r1) but still have this problem.
hmm... definitely works for me... how strange, do you have some out of date startup files perhaps?
Damn, another invalid bug. :) I had spelled reiserfs in the /etc/fstab wrong.
