This bug should track the GNOME 2.8.2 meta ebuild through it's package.mask'ed state, currently stored in the gnome-2.8.2_pre0.ebuild meta. The 2.8.2 is in sync with the Official GNOME 2.8.2 release, that is - all of the package versions that are part of the official 2.8.2 are in portage, and in the meta - with the following exceptions. The maintainers will need to update these packages, or advise that they won't be available for 2.8.2 for some other reason. foser/gstreamer@gentoo.org: >=media-libs/gst-plugins-0.8.6 liquidx (lumping together as evolution libs, sorry) >=mail-client/evolution-2.0.3 >=gnome-extra/gal-2.2.4 >=gnome-extra/libgtkhtml-3.2.4 >=gnome-extra/evolution-data-server-1.0.3 We can track the status of those updates here, thanks.
obz >=gnome-base/libgnomeprint-2.8.2 >=gnome-base/libgnomeprintui-2.8.2 >=gnome-extra/nautilus-cd-burner-2.8.6
I've updated libgnomeprint, libgnomeprintui and nautilus-cd-burner.
I've updated evolution, gal, libgtkhtml and evolution-data-server.
foser told me to put bug #73443 (vte bug) as a blocker (a patch is available on linked gnome bugzilla entry)
Sorry, been flat out - the only things left for 2.8.2 are: gst-plugins dependency needs updating in the meta (newer version is in the tree). Aside from that, and the bugs that are blocking this - there's no reason it can't go ~x86. I'll have no time to do this until maybe Saturday night, at which point, if there are no objections I'll push it in, then we'll bump the bugs to the next Tracker for 2.8.2 stable.
The 2.8.2 ebuild has been added to ~arch in the tree.
