Description Manfred Knick 2017-11-26 09:37:32 UTC
With the transition
   to   nvidia-drivers-375.82,
the ewarn was adapted
   from "<---4.13"
   to   "<---4.14" .

<cite>

   Kernel 4.14 is now out, ...

   As expected,
   the latest NVIDIA drivers (384.98 and 387.22) are OK with this release,
   and VMware 14.0.0 – with the vmmon patch
                                  ( see http://rglinuxtech.com/?p=2090 )
   – is OK as well..

CONFIRMATION:

   Installing 4.14.2-gentoo ,
   re-emerging x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-387.22:0/387,
   even a multi-screen X11 setup worked flawlessly,
   including nvidia-smi as well as nvidia-settings.
