Description Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2017-11-02 11:50:12 UTC
It seems latest gnuradio versions in tree disable wxWidgets stuff already, in order to not use old 2.8 SLOT of it. But old versions are still in tree, which depend on it. 2.8 wants to get last rited soon, so please cleanup or whatever is necessary to not have any wxGTK:2.8 or wxpython:2.8 dependency atoms in main tree anymore. Thanks.
Comment 1 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2018-02-14 15:09:20 UTC
I will remove them in a week if there are no issues
Comment 2 Rick Farina (Zero_Chaos) gentoo-dev 2018-02-15 02:18:54 UTC
honestly I greatly regret the removal of wxwidgets support from the latest gnuradio since it breaks a number of gnuradio related packages. but I'm not going to stand in the way of progress so ACK
Comment 3 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2018-02-15 02:32:03 UTC
see bug 601190 for patches to support wxpython:3.0, etc... just no-one reacted in any reasonable timeframe, so Pacho removed the support instead, based on other comments there about the future of the WX gui.

We'll remove the old revisions then, and you can dig out the gnuradio-3.7.11.ebuild from history to make changes for wxpython:3.0 support on top.

I believe this is complete, if I have failed in some way please bring it to my attention.
