Following the new java policy, packages shouldn't rely on packed jars, dependencies need to be added on our own packages and used.
these are the dependencies of aqua-data-studio. -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 54K Jun 25 2002 activation.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 4.3M Jul 11 01:42 datastudio.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 1.1M Jun 28 2003 db2java.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 648K Oct 24 2002 db2jcc.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 520K Jun 7 2002 ifxjdbc.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 297K Jul 22 2002 jconnect45.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 876K Apr 30 2004 jconnect55.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 232K May 11 2004 jtds.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 299K Aug 28 2002 mail.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 865K Mar 18 2004 mysql-jdbc.zip -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 237K Feb 19 2004 mysql.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 4.8M Jun 15 21:40 nlscharset12.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 1.3M Jun 15 21:39 oracle.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 206K Jun 16 09:16 postgresql.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 118K Sep 23 2003 xdb.jar -rw-r--r-- 1 lucky users 646K Sep 23 2003 xmlparserv2.jar i resolved nearly all of them. one big problem i've found is db2java.jar. i asked ibm where to download a standalone jdbc for db2 version 7.2 and they told me the following: Jan, In 7.2, this would need to come from a DB2 client. Please see Paul's note below. [...] Has to come fro ma client in V7.2 - -but they are not allowed to do that -- it is against the license ---- dont know how to resolve this issue. for version 8.x one is able to download a standalone package of the jdbc drivers.
i think we should simply remove this package from the tree, it's hardmasked for other reasons and we've no possibility to replace the jdbc driver for db2 with a portage own version.
removed aqua-data-studio from the tree, it was hardmasked an there is no possiblity to remove the packed jar issue. upstream hasn't done anything to resolve the other issues, so it's gone now.
