Still seeing the same issue trying to build net-fs/samba-4.5.10-r1 with distcc.

Is it helpful to throw my hat in the ring and say that with distcc enabled in portage, this error still occurs with net-fs/samba-4.8.6-r2?

Are there any news about building samba is broken with distcc?
