Please see the attached build.log. Basically I'm running the latest QT and try to merge the latest KDE/ Plasma stuff.
I don't even understand why designer is pulled in.

The thing is that also other stuff seems to be broken, I attached a second build.log showing that qtquickcontrols-5.2.2 fails as well.

I tried now to remove everything KDE/ QT/ LXQT related and install again making sure that no QT3, QT4 stuff is merged and was on the system. I still cannot compile designer with this. So I don't see a mixed version issue here. I attached another build log.

According to the log, you are trying to build dev-qt/designer-5.4.2 with qtcore-5.5.1.

Ok, I though that's related to QT because I had some QT 4.x stuff previously.
Anyways, after pulling in Designer 5.5.1, everything compiles! 
So thanks, mu actual problem is solve an from my perspective you can close this.
