Comment 4 Ben Kohler gentoo-dev 2015-07-07 22:21:35 UTC
This is broken by the new patch added in bug 529388
Comment 5 Ben Kohler gentoo-dev 2015-07-07 22:33:08 UTC
Maybe the new patch just exposed another problem? A little tweak like this on Makefile.am is enough to build it successfully:

Getting this on 1.6.0 as well

Well, that's a hack. The patch should be actually fixed to have proper 'else' branch.
Comment 8 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2015-07-09 16:01:41 UTC
@Pacho, you broke this!
Comment 9 Rick Harris 2015-07-10 21:41:22 UTC
Seems the patch was included to fix enable/disable of wayland.

But '--enable-wayland=yes/no' configure switch looks to work now so could just ditch the automagic patch all together?
Comment 10 David Brooke 2015-07-13 17:49:10 UTC
I too have the problem on:
x11-libs/libva-intel-driver-1.6.0

I changed the wayland use flag for:
x11-libs/libva-intel-driver wayland
x11-libs/libva wayland

and it installs.

What I am trying to say is that, when I committed it, it compiled ok for sure (I am not sure if maybe the patch finally committed to CVS was modified at some point or similar) but, I am completely BORED of that comments simply pointing with the finger to try to catch the culprit

you should read it as 'thanks for doing most of the work, you should be the one to review or improve it since you'd know best' :)

(and anyway, I dont think you broke anything since this was broken the same way without the patch I think)
Comment 14 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2015-07-14 10:59:11 UTC
Thanks a lot Aballier (and sorry to Michal if I took the comment too bad, I didn't have a good day yesterday :( )
Comment 15 Kai Huuhko 2015-07-16 16:13:11 UTC
Hello, I'm getting a similar failure with USE=wayland on libva-intel-driver-1.6.0 build:
"Makefile:1382: *** missing separator. Stop."

Lines 1379-1382 in this Makefile are as follows:
$(PKG_VERSION_FILE): $(NEW_VERSION_FILE)
        @cp -f $< $@
i965_output_wayland.c: $(protocol_source_h)
/usr/share/wayland/wayland-scanner.mk

With USE=-wayland it builds just fine.
