Would be nice to have this version stabilized as it includes systemd support, the problem is that 3.14.10-r1 looks to be affected by bug 402057, but I am not sure if it's a regression :/ Thanks for your help
You're right that apcupsd could us a new stable and some additional bug fixing -- I took over apcupsd awhile ago but haven't yet had time to rebuild the ebuild and go through the old bugs the way I want...I was hoping a new release would be a good place to start but upstream puts out new releases relatively infrequently so unless it's urgent, I'd like to hold off for a few weeks while I figure out how I want to modify the ebuild/etc going forward. Of course, if you want to be a co-maintainer - go ahead and push the ebuild to be as good as you can and then we can do a formal stable request.
Maybe other option could be to backport systemd support for .8 version, what do you think about that? :/
+*apcupsd-3.14.8-r2 (28 Sep 2013) + + 28 Sep 2013; Pacho Ramos <pacho@gentoo.org> +apcupsd-3.14.8-r2.ebuild: + Backport unit files to allow faster stabilization + OK with CCing arches in a week or so?
I'm going to put out a 3.4.10 stable candidate soon, finally have time to start reworking the ebuild in my overlay...numerous bugs in both .8 and .10.... odds are 3.14.8 will be removed when .10 goes stable.
