Bug 469514 – net-misc/bopm: Ebuild installs /var/run/bopm instead of creating it during boot

Just checked the ebuild for bopm 3.1.3 and it's creating /var/run/bopm

However gentoo doesn't do that anymore, instead maintaining a /run tmpfs

Just do what anope does

It should actually use /run instead of /var/run

Well that should actually be both.

Both:

* use /run instead of /var/run
* create /run/bopm at runtime with the initscript, instead of creating it at install time with the ebuild

Yes, I would say!
And even great if you can provide a patch for this.

Oops, the other bug should have been marked duplicate of this, but I already “fixed” that one.

Fix is in bomp-3.1.3-r1. I’ll drop the broken bopm-3.1.3 in a month, or anyone may if they want.
