This is a somewhat tricky one, license wise. The portmap code itself is under a BSD (3-clause) license. However, there is also from_local.c which was taken from SunRPC and was under a non-free license. SunRPC has been relicensed in 2009 though: On Saturday I was able to tell Europe's Free Software developers that the licenses on the RPC code are no longer a barrier to Free software - we'll change the license to Sun's copyrights in the RPC code to a standard 3-clause BSD license, allowing inheritance of that licensing by both Debian and Fedora. I'm delighted to have been able to fix this problem, which arose not because of failure but because of the success of software freedom over many years and becuase of Sun's early commitment to it. <http://web.archive.org/web/20090328132957/http://blogs.sun.com/webmink/entry/old_code_and_old_licenses> See also Debian's long discussion here: <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=181493> In addition, the init script is under GPL-2 (see bug 426102). So in summary, LICENSE in ebuilds should be changed to "BSD GPL-2".
Fixed.
