Since the  install-amd64-minimal-20120917.iso,  CD lacks /run directory, at least when it is run as a vmware guest. 

/var/run is a symlink to /run, many services fail to start with various errors during the boot.

The most annoying thing is that the user can not run dhcpcd on the desired interface...
