Description bbkr 2004-03-03 18:20:16 UTC
I've seen VERY similiar bugs on bugzilla, but reproductable.

Maybe system info first:
P4 CPU 256MB RAM
kernel 2.6.3-gentoo-dev
GCC 3.3.2-r5
CFLAGS="-march=i686 -mcpu=i686 -O2"
CXXFLAGS as above
other combinations (both CXX and C FLAGS)
"-march=pentium4 -mcpu=pentium4 -Os -fomit-frame-pointer -s -pipe -DNDEBUG -DG_DISABLE_ASSERT"
"-march=pentium3 -mcpu=pentium3 -Os"
"" (no flags set)
USE flag - no changes made since system installation
OO versions:
1.1.0-r2
1.1.1b
md5-sum were OK.
enough space on disk!!

Instalation breaks in DIFFERENT moments. Here is one example:

I can attach more examples if needed. Sometimes there is some extra info about assembler error (especially on OO 1.1.0-r2), sometimes not. When I'll notice it I'll post it here (I must try few times to compile OO but it takes very long). The bug occurs in different moments while making different files (most often on OBJ files).

As I mentioned before I have enough disk space. I also tried to compile it in text mode, without kde running (I thought it may be caused by lack of memmory).

It's my first post on bugzilla, so please tell me If I should post any other details (excluding bank account password :>>).

Reproducible: Sometimes
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge openoffice (for 1.1.0-r2) or
1. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge openoffice (for 1.1.1b)

Please take a look at bug #20600, It seems that you have some hardware problems. What might work is to use the ebuild command to continue the compilation instead of starting from start.
