I've created a new ebuild for wdghtml40 from www.htmlhelp.com and would like to make it available for use. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 26457 [details] initial ebuild for wdghtml
Howzit Jaco, Can you please attach a proper ebuild (ie, with headers intact). For an example of what we look for in the headers, see /usr/portage/skel.ebuild
Oh and please reopen this bug when you've done that
Created attachment 27078 [details] wdghtml-4.0.ebuild This will hopefully fix it, please let me know.
As requested, updated ebuild now available, please check.
Created attachment 27082 [details] wdghtml-40.ebuild renamed the ebuild (version screw up) in order to enable correct download, also changed install location from /usr/share/doc/wdg-html-40 /usr/share/doc/wdghtml-40 which is more consistent with package naming.
cheers jaco
Now you probably need a maintainer for these ebuilds?
Think seemant random assigned this to me, wouldn't it be something for the webapps herd?
Tried it the nice way..
I'm not understanding the need for this ebuild, when the documentation is available online.
Not everybody has a permanent connection, and in some cases even those that do don't want to waste bandwidth on this. Yes, I live in a country where bandwidth is expensive - it's a commodity that is very precious. It is also usefull if one is maintaining mirrors for internal use, such as the one we are building up on http://docs.cs.up.ac.za/ - just makes life slightly easier.
I think this ebuild is a good idea, and I can see how it would be useful. In fact, I think it'd be great to see ebuilds for the rest of their documentation too. Best regards, Stu
I've created (and submitted) one for wdgcss too and I've started on the validator but somewhere along the line I got distracted and in the meantime too many projects have popped up.
An ebuild for the Validator at #71201
wdghtml is now in our unofficial overlay: http://svn.gnqs.org/projects/gentoo-webapps-overlay/browser/experimental/www-apps/wdghtml Please note that the overlay is unofficial, not a Gentoo project, and not supported. It is intended to provide easier access to new web applications.
