Description Valentin 2011-05-01 18:56:00 UTC
I downloaded the ISO image for the Gentoo-Linux and burned it to a CD.
Followed the instructions (insert CD and boot the machine from CD-ROM).
When prompted to hit "Enter" to install Gentoo I did so (which means my
keyboard is working).
After loading and configuring all modules I get to the prompt symbol(#)
The problem is, I can't type anything because my keyboard is dead !
Both my keyboard and mouse use USB connections.
I went into the BIOS and looked at the settings. Both keyboard and mouse
are USB enabled by default.
What's up ?
Only one warning during setup appears. Something saying that nfsmount could
be completed ( with !! red indicators ) Otherwise, everything is green ( OK )
Can anyone help ?
Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Insert installation CD and boot the machine.
2.When prompted to install Gentoo, hit "Enter" key
3.After loading all kernel modules, keyboard goes dead

Which ISO did you download? Please provide us with the URL you used.

Since I have a Intel Core 2 Duo (which I understand is 64 bit) I clicked on the "Download" link on Gentoo's main page. It took me to the "Installation media" webpage and clicked on "amd64:iso, which took me again to "Open Source Lab Mirrors" webpage and downloaded the "install-amd64-minimal-20110421.iso
After all, that's what the Gentoo's Handbook recommends on their installation guide. Or maybe I did something wrong ?
Thanks.(In reply to comment #1)

I'm pretty sure this is a dupe.
Please reopen if it's not.
