Description Michael Sullivan 2011-04-18 14:07:14 UTC
avidemux has failed to merge for the past week. The best reason I can give for this is from this line from the output:

make[2]: *** [avidemux/ADM_script/CMakeFiles/ADM_script_cli.dir/ADM_JSFunctions.cpp.o] Error 1

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -uD world
2.
3.
Actual Results:
avidemux did not merge successfully

Expected Results:
avidemux should emerge successfully

Comment 2 Rafał Mużyło 2011-04-18 16:18:37 UTC
Scroll those couple of lines back:
/var/tmp/portage/media-video/avidemux-2.5.4-r2/work/avidemux_2.5.4/avidemux/ADM_libraries/ffmpeg/libavutil/common.h: In function 'int32_t av_clipl_int32_c(int64_t)':

- needs -D__STDC_CONSTANT_MACROS.
Comment 3 Rafał Mużyło 2011-04-22 01:26:06 UTC
Your toolchain is more up to date, but perhaps gcc 4.4 would help ?

Of course, for all the C++ apps switching gcc upwards is a one way trip.

Comment 4 Andreas Plesch 2011-04-29 20:44:02 UTC
Have exactly the same issue, gcc is 4.3.4.
Comment 5 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-04-29 20:52:35 UTC
You are using a testing package with a stable toolchain. This is not supported. Reopen the bug if you are able to reproduce it with the latest toolchain
Comment 6 Andreas Plesch 2011-05-02 04:31:13 UTC
2.5.4-r2 is actually marked stable. I will just mask it for now.
Comment 7 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-05-02 10:22:27 UTC
But you need to upgrade your gcc to a more recent stable version
Comment 8 Andreas Plesch 2011-05-02 20:23:24 UTC
There are lots of compiler warnings but upgrading to gcc 4.4.5 does fix the problem.
