It would seem that media-sound/alsa-driver-1.0.23 is not compatible with kernels >2.6.34, and there has been no stable release since 1.0.23.

Is there some reason that the in-kernel ALSA modules won't work for you? If you need snd-aloop, it's supposed to be in kernel 2.6.37. Otherwise, you could give media-sound/alsa-driver-9999 a shot.

Maybe we should treeclean this as upstream has clearly moved to in-kernel drivers
