Description Brian Dolbec (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-10-07 05:53:02 UTC
synce-0.15 version bump please. I will try bumping and testing them in the next week or so when I have time.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Iain Buchanan 2010-10-11 22:56:59 UTC
Hi,

can you try the 0.15 versions in the SynCE overlay? Don't use the virtual app-pda/synce yet but all others should be ok. See http://www.synce.org/moin/SynceInstallation/Gentoo

Note, backup your data etc.

Let me know how you go. Still work to do on the dependencies.

thanks :)

See these dependant bugs if you have problems syncing or building.
Comment 3 Alex Buell 2010-11-04 21:32:37 UTC
Where is the SynCE overlay? Can't find it on the list of overlays available?

# layman -L |grep -i synce
* bazaar                    [Bzr       ] (lp:bzr-gentoo-overlay                )
* ferringb                  [Bzr       ] (http://pkgcore.org/~ferringb/bzr/o...)
* haskell                   [Darcs     ] (http://code.haskell.org/gentoo/gen...)
* serkan-overlay            [Bzr       ] (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~serka...)
Comment 4 Brian Dolbec (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-11-04 22:56:05 UTC
use the link in comment #1 above. There are the instructions to get and install the overlay. And no it is not in the list.
Comment 5 Alex Buell 2010-11-05 00:25:45 UTC
Ah, I am sorry, I must have misunderstood, thought the overlay was in the gentoo overlays, but yes I'll add it to my layman configuration and grab the ebuilds. Thank you :)
Comment 6 Iain Buchanan 2010-11-05 06:50:37 UTC
note the overlay is in a bit of flux at the moment - may create multiple dependencies in the same slot, depending on what you have installed.
Comment 7 Alex Buell 2010-11-05 12:35:35 UTC
Note that, however, that app-pda/synce-0.15 ebuild is missing which means app-pda/synce-0.14 keeps pulling in the wrong ebuilds.

Now that app-pda/synce-0.15 is officially in the tree, I can confirm that syncs to my PDA through Evolution works well.
Comment 9 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-02-25 16:14:36 UTC
I don't see a reason for meta-package, but I've committed:

dev-libs/libsynce-0.15.1
dev-libs/librapi2-0.15.2
app-pda/synce-connector-0.15.1
app-pda/synce-sync-engine-0.15.1

That's all I could find for 0.15.x series in SourceForge.

If you need more individual pkgs, and you know they are compatible with these other pkgs please file a new bug and let me know about it.

and:

dev-libs/librra
dev-libs/librtfcomp

as a depend of synce-sync-engine.

synce-trayicon-0.15.1 fails to compile without HAL so that's a no-go for now.

anything else missing? file bugs people. ;)

To sync with Evolution via SynCE, the following are needed:

libopensync 0.22 (library)
libopensync-plugin-evolution2 0.22 (plugin to use with Evolution)
libopensync-plugin-python 0.22 (plugin for use with WM5/WM6 devices)

(optional)
libopensync-plugin-sync 0.22 (plugin for use with pre WM5 devices)

With synce-sync-engine, it is necessary to put the synce-opensync-plugin-2x.py script into /usr/lib/opensync/python-plugins/. It is not necessary to use the synce-opensync-plugn-3x.py since we only use the 0.22.x series of libopensync packages.

Sorry, that one won't build, you need to use

libopensync-plugin-sync-rra 0.22.1 (plugin for use with pre WM5 devices)

instead.

I tried to set this up today but all the docs are old and half the deps are masked. Could someone either update the docs or finish nuking the packages?
