A known problem in OpenOffice.org when using the KDE file dialogs (save dialog, mainly): As soon as you copied some text (e.g. Control+C) the save dialog is extremely slow (takes more than 10 seconds to open, reacts slowly on input). This seems to be caused due to wrong locking, as seen in the bug report linked to above. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use the KDE file dialogs in OpenOffice 2. Copy some text 3. Try to save the file / export pdf Actual Results: File dialog is extremely slow Expected Results: File dialog is as fast as usual There is a working patch and a workaround: Working patch: https://bugzillafiles.novell.org/attachment.cgi?id=390978 (Tested here, I was not able to reproduce the problem anymore so far) Workaround: use the OpenOffice dialogs instead Please include this patch in the patchset until the problem is resolved upstream, as this bug is really annoying.
Nice to see there finally is a patch! Nevertheless this is a DUP of http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290861
