The build produces: * Messages for package net-fs/autofs-5.0.5: * USE="sasl" adds SASL support to the LDAP module * which will not be build. If SASL support should be * available, please add "ldap" to the USE flags. * Note: You might need to patch your kernel to use this * version of autofs. Upstream kernel patches have been * installed into "/usr/share/doc/autofs-5.0.5/patches". * For further instructions, please refer to * "/usr/share/doc/autofs-5.0.5/README". * * Note: If you plan on using autofs for automounting * remote NFS mounts without having the NFS daemon running * please add portmap or rpcbind to your default run-level. However, /usr/share/doc/autofs-5.0.5/README.active-restart.bz2 appears to be the right README. It would also be helpful to include in the einfo that only 2.6.29 and before are affected, to save those who don't need to having to look this up. Reproducible: Always

In which respect do you think that README.active-restart is the more appropriate README? I don't see what you refer to right a way and like to make sure to understand your point before improving the einfo. > It would also be helpful to include in the einfo that only > 2.6.29 and before are affected, to save those who don't need to having to look > this up. That's a valid point. I will include this in the updated version. Thanks for pointing to this.
einfo was updated in 5.0.5-r1. Also information about kernel patches will be visible if user have quite old kernel installed. Fixed.
