Description Robin Johnson archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2010-05-25 20:21:50 UTC
arches, please stabilize.

Doing this a week early because the last stable nut-2.4.1 doesn't work right with the latest stable udev, due to the s/SYSFS/ATTRS/ change.

target keywords:
alpha amd64 ppc sparc x86

test instructions:
compile-only unless you have hardware
Comment 1 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-05-30 19:35:49 UTC
checking whether to build static libraries...
checking whether to build serial drivers... yes
configure: error: "Net-SNMP libraries not found, required for SNMP drivers"

!!! Please attach the following file when seeking support:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/sys-power/nut-2.4.3-r1/work/nut-2.4.3/config.log
 * ERROR: sys-power/nut-2.4.3-r1 failed:
 *   econf failed
 *

Maybe a dependency is missing here?
Comment 2 Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-14 20:54:18 UTC
the problem is more complex than that:
/var/tmp/portage/sys-power/nut-2.4.3-r1/temp/cccX4kad.o: In function `main':
/var/tmp/portage/sys-power/nut-2.4.3-r1/work/nut-2.4.3/conftest.c:89: undefined reference to `init_snmp'

so the problem seems to be in m4/nut_check_libnetsnmp.m4
Comment 3 Christoph Mende (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-06-14 21:33:21 UTC
ok, got it, this is caused by --as-needed and is already reported in bug 318481.
Comment 4 Richard Scott 2010-06-29 15:39:08 UTC
Is it me, or does sys-power/nut-2.4.3-r2 seems to still have the udev issues too :-(
Comment 5 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2010-07-09 09:50:53 UTC
bug 318481 is solved now, for any remaining problems please open a new bug report blocking this one
