Description Martin von Gagern 2010-03-09 16:47:13 UTC
The alsa-driver ebuild provides a USE flag alsa_cards_fm801-tea575x, configured via the IUSE_CARDS variable. This seems to have no effect, though, as tea575x is configured using --with-card-options=fm801-tea575x-bool or, in the case of the ebuild, --with-card-options=all. Therefore the setting of alsa_cards_fm801-tea575x has no effect on the installed drivers, only the alsa_cards_fm801 has. The presence of an ineffective USE flag is confusing. You might drop it.

The live ebuild is affected as well. In that case, the issue is more severe, as the fm801-tea575x driver currently prevents the live ebuild from compiling against 2.6.33 kernels, as reported in bug #308677, so it would be nice if one could selectively disable it. Don't know if it would make sense to provide USE flags for all card options as well, though.
