Description Fred Krogh 2010-02-26 22:02:21 UTC
The error message: configure: error: Python 2.5+: inbuilt sqlite is required to build hamster
This was while using python-2.6. Python-2.5 fails immediately with
/usr/bin/emerge:43: Warning: 'as' will become a reserved keyword in Python 2.6
  File "/usr/bin/emerge", line 43
    except PermissionDenied as e:
(I have no idea what why this died here) Python 3.1 fails a well.

Reproducible: Always

Yep... configure says everything is fine but inbuilt sqlite:

Seems like the EBUILD fails to require the sqlite useflag for dev-lang/python.

I forced sqlite through package.use and it merged fine.

Thanks that worked for me.
Comment 6 Alexandre Hannud Abdo 2010-03-01 04:09:08 UTC
Hi!

Yeah it works, but I wouldn't mark it as FIXED, this was a workaround...

A proper fix would be for the EBUILD itself to require the use flag, as is described in section "Built with USE Dependencies" of

http://devmanual.gentoo.org/general-concepts/dependencies/index.html

Cheers,

this is actually an already known problem

Comment 9 n3ph 2010-04-22 12:10:49 UTC
so if this is known for a very long time, why the maintainer havn't fixed the EBUILD yet?
