Hello there, GNOME 2.29.5 was released officially released on January 13. In overlay gnome certainly when it will gnome-2.29.5. With your permission, I will allow myself to act as a beta tester. There http://github.com/init6/init_6 is all that I managed to make yourself. At the moment it is easier to list, with what were the problems:

=gnome-base/gnome-keyring-2.29.5 # Build fine! But then revdep-rebuild does not find =gnome-base/gnome-keyring-2.29.5

=gnome-extra/evolution-data-server-2.29.5 # Build fine!
=mail-client/evolution-2.29.5 # Build errors. Build log http://pastebin.ca/1754768
=gnome-extra/evolution-exchange-2.29.5 # Depends on mail-client/evolution...

=media-gfx/gthumb-2.11.1 # Build errors. Build log http://pastebin.ca/1754769

=gnome-base/gnome-panel-2.29.5 # Build fine! But after restarting all applets are dead.

=dev-libs/totem-pl-parser-2.28.2 # temp. fix --disable-gmime-i-know-what-im-doing for dev-libs/gmime-2.5.0 And how do the right thing, I just do not know

Everything else is updated without problems.

And thank you.

Hi, thanks for doing all this testing, it's greatly appreciated.

If you really want to contribute to the gnome overlay and gnome in Gentoo in general, I can only encourage you to work in a clone of the gnome overlay and do your changes there (take a look at other commits in the overlay to see how we usually do things). Then you can push your changes to your github account, from which someone will be able to pull from you, it should be much easier than with a completely separate overlay.

Thanks again for testing.

PS, come talk to us in #gentoo-desktop on FreeNode, we'll gladly help you contribute
