Does a bump to .59 fix this issue? (see bug 255490)
Sorry but in the meantime (over 2 years) I switched distro so I cannot help you anymore about this bug.
Uuum, this is a bug of your system. Sancho works perfectly fine here. I can help you work out any differences on your system that cause this. Please fix your system.
I really can’t reproduce this bug. If anyone still has it: Please speak up.
Ok, now I could reproduce it, and this bug only occurs with USE="-java". (Which wasn’t off, when I thought it was.) But it is no surprise, when trying to install such an old binary on a recent system. ;) There now is a new ebuild, which doesn’t have native binaries anymore, and therefore doesn’t have this bug. See bug #255490.
This bug was reported about 3 years ago, in the meanwhile I choose to switch from gentoo to another distro so I cannot provide any useful information about this bug anymore .
