Description Omar Saleem 2009-12-03 08:04:30 UTC
qt-core fails to compile, i tried downgrading back to 4.5.3 (since i uninstalled all qt-* to get around blocks) and i got the same error with 4.5.3

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. attempt to compile qt-core
Actual Results:
>>> Done src_unpack
>>> Starting builtin_saveenv
>>> Done builtin_saveenv
>>> Completed ebuild phases loadenv unpack saveenv
>>> Running ebuild phases loadenv prepare saveenv as paludisbuild:paludisbuild...
>>> Starting builtin_loadenv
>>> Done builtin_loadenv
>>> Starting src_prepare
sed: -e expression #1, char 29: unknown option to `s'

!!! ERROR in x11-libs/qt-core-4.6.0::gentoo:
!!! In qt4-build_src_prepare at line 4534
!!! sed qmake compilers failed

!!! Call stack:

!!!    * ebuild_main (/usr/libexec/paludis/ebuild.bash:604)
!!!    * main (/usr/libexec/paludis/ebuild.bash:632)

diefunc: making ebuild PID 25618 exit with error
die trap: exiting with error.

Expected Results:
compiled nicely

i use paludis, shouldn't be relevant though
this is notable: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=292741
i had the same exact error there, and devs decided that was an ebuild fault so they fixed it...probably the same thing needs to be fixed here
also, i'm guessing all the other qt-* packages need to be fixed too, but i can't say for sure since they all depend on qt-core so i can't try to compile them

OK, looks like we need to avoid using / as separator in seds in our ebuilds and eclasses.

just to..make sure, will this be ported upstream?
Comment 6 Michael Frank 2009-12-06 05:35:00 UTC
Isn't it upstream? who closed the bug?

If you closed the bug perhaps reopen it and let the qt devs close it...
Comment 7 Omar Saleem 2009-12-06 05:35:54 UTC
oh, it was me
i'll reopen it then, sorry
Comment 8 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-12-06 09:34:18 UTC
