Description Oliver Borm 2009-11-21 13:57:00 UTC
As kdevelop:3.5 was removed from tree, please sync kdevelop-plugins from kde overlay in order to get support for other languages.

Reproducible: Always

Try ebuild from kde overlay.
Comment 3 George L. Emigh 2010-03-02 18:26:44 UTC
With the removal of KDE3 and now QT3 on the chopping block it is kind of annoying to have kde-sunset overlay just to keep Quanta around.

Since dev-util/kdevelop-3.9.98 is in the portage tree, it sure would be nice if the corresponding kdevelop-plugins were available so the shiny new PHP plugin would be handy to use.

And with that I say please.
Comment 4 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-05-15 22:46:02 UTC
Try dev-util/kdevelop-php and dev-util/kdevelop-php-docs
Comment 5 Oliver Borm 2010-05-16 12:44:42 UTC
This bug was not only about the php-plugin. So this issue is not fixed for me, until I have support for python.

You've forced me to use kdevelop4, so get 'em up working correctly in portage!

No one is forcing you to use Gentoo and we have explained enough times already why Qt3/KDE3 were removed from the tree.
As this is a volunteer project, you may want to remember your chances of getting something done will increase significantly if you address developers with courtesy.
Comment 7 Maciej Mrozowski gentoo-dev 2010-05-18 20:15:53 UTC
Python support has not been released yet by upstream and I don't know whether it's even in progress. We won't magically make it appear. The only officially released KDevelop plugins as of now are php and php-docs.
And kdevelop-extra-plugins-9999 ebuild that builds some experimental (some abandoned, some not working) plugins directloy from SVN is in kde overlay.
That being said we can't get python support "working properly in Portage" when there is none.
Therefore RESOLVED/FIXED is correct. Please open new bug for python support when it arrives officially and we're slacking to get it to portage. Thanks.

I am REOPEN this bug again, as python support is already available as far as I can see:

Have you checked the commit history in that repo? If you ignore the desktop file, I can only see 4 commits in the last year - 2 6 months ago, another 4 weeks ago and the last one 5 days ago. Furthermore those commits only touch CMakeLists.txt so there has been no code change in over 1 year!

No, it doesn't mean python support is available as there are NO TARBALLS released.
What you showed is that python support has been in development and ONLY in KDE subversion repository - which obviously does not qualify as a 'release',

This is fixed long time ago, thus closing (again)
About the python plugin, it's development seems frozen, so I don't know if there is any reason to create a live ebuild or snapshot about it.
