Description Matt Turner gentoo-dev 2009-10-27 19:37:06 UTC
The xserver needs these two patches before it makes sense to stabilize it on alpha.

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=34eddbbb73bb16395dba0818247909c1b4bee4c2

They're both in the 1.7 and 1.8 branches. I'd like to do a 1.6.6 release with fixes for alpha in it, but we'll see.

Please nominate them for the 1.6 branch [1] and I'll do a revbump with those patches along with the other nominees.

Thanks

I've nominated both patches for inclusion in 1.6, let's see if keithp agrees.

Thanks

So I think we're good to go with 9625f6d328d6f516520930227b218979309938bc?

A revbump isn't needed here. The patch affects only alpha, and 1.6.3 doesn't even work on alpha without it.
Comment 4 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-11-18 20:31:01 UTC
This patch along with other patches from the 1.6 nominations page are now in 1.6.5-r1.

@alpha, feel free to stabilize this version of xorg-server if it works for you. I'll get another round of X packages up for stabilization within a week or two, you guys can have a head start :)

Cheers
