Description Maxi Combina 2009-10-05 22:01:17 UTC
The convert utility from media-gfx/imagemagick has a bug which causes the XResolution EXIF tag to be overwritten when (at least) using the -resize option.
I have tried versions 6.5.2.9 and 6.5.4.10 and both have the problem.

Also, I have reported the bug to ImageMagick forum and they already provide a solution:
http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14797&p=51827#p51827

I have created a patch and updated imagemagick-6.5.4.10.ebuild to use the patch.
This is only the unstable version of ImageMagick, but the stable version can be easily updated as well (sorry, it is late here!)

I tested the ebuild with the patch and it works OK.

regards!
Maxi

Any news on this bug?
After reporting the bug, a link to the original bug report, a patch and a new ebuild, and not receiving any feedback is pretty sad.
What is happening with Gentoo?

I guess this is fixed in fixed in media-gfx/imagemagick-6.5.7.0 ?

as a fixed version is going stable in bug #291696 I'll close this one.
