Description Hans Rakers 2009-11-03 12:59:08 UTC
Please stabilize imagemagick-6.5.4.10 or later (maybe 6.5.7.0 in light of bug 287823)

We ran into some weird resize&crop results (much smaller crops than usual/expected) with imagemagick's convert prog since the stabilization of media-libs/jpeg-7.

After some testing, it seems the currently stable 6.5.2.9 does not work well with the recently stabilized media-libs/jpeg-7

Digging through the ImageMagick changelogs reveals that IM is compatible with libjpeg-7 since version 6.5.4-6 so that explains.

I can provide a test command & image with expected and actual result if need be.

Reproducible: Always

By "this version" you mean 6.5.7.0, right?

@ppc: there's a newer stable request in bug #305051 - I'm leaving this bug open for the dependent bugs...

The newer version is marked ppc stable, closing.
