Description David Abbott (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-08-05 20:36:23 UTC
Installed Perl 5.10 from the perl-experimental overlay to find what packages
fail to build.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable perl-experimental overlay
2. Update to Perl 5.10
3. perl-cleaner all
4. locate 5.8.8 | grep ^/usr/ | grep -v ^/usr/portage | xargs equery belongs |
uniq | sed -e s/^/\=/ | xargs emerge --oneshot
5. emerge -e1 system -e1 world
6. install every package from dev-perl

Actual Results:
dev-perl/Net-FTPServer-1.122 failed.

archive-zip.patch

Installed fine, my first patch and updated ebuild.
Comment 5 mephinet 2009-10-10 17:19:35 UTC
I improved your ebuild just a little so that it does not require a custom perl-module_src_unpack.
This issue should block 280724, imho, but I'm not allowed to set this field...

Comment 8 mephinet 2009-10-10 17:41:53 UTC
still, the ebuilds (yours, mine, the one in the portage tree) are rotten - on my machine, they only install the docs:

# equery files --filter=obj dev-perl/Net-FTPServer
[ Searching for packages matching dev-perl/Net-FTPServer... ]
* Contents of dev-perl/Net-FTPServer-1.122-r2:

Nothing depends on this package. Upstream doesn't seem to care. Let's kill it.

Fine by me, I only installed it for testing, no one else seems much interested.
Comment 11 mephinet 2009-10-10 20:47:00 UTC
Same here, no personal interest...
Comment 12 Torsten Veller (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-11-10 11:54:37 UTC
dev-perl/Net-FTPServer is gone.

Thanks Guys.
