If you are using perl-5.10.1, you want to reinstall it after your next sync.

Hi,

The perl-5.10.1 seems to no compile properly using hardened/uclibc x86 profile.
The compilation fails (segmentation fault) when executing miniperl.

I cannot give you the portage details yet as my system is doing a system recompilation. As soon as it's done I will post the details.

But for now, from my own investigations, 5.8.8-r8 is working.
It seems to be an issue with fstack_protector flags (my cflags are empty, I'm using the default ones). I can see this flag used in 5.10.1 while not with 5.8.8.

With most of the bugs worked out (short of a few test failures, which seem to be not regressions), anything left before 5.10 can go in to the stable tree?  It's been working great on my amd64 install, and the tinderbox run seemed to go quite well before it moved to ~amd64.

I hope we can stabilize perl-5.12.1 soon. The open bugs are tracked in bug #319801.

perl-5.12.1 should be as good as perl-5.10.1 and we can avoid that all users have to reinstall the perl modules twice.
