Description Richard Garand 2003-09-05 18:22:31 UTC
These are the ebuild files for iRATE 0.2. iRATE is a program that downloads
and plays freely available music, using the user's ratings of the downloaded
songs to find more music that they might like.

These should probably go in media-sound/; it requires Java.

The iRATE ebuild files
Comment 2 Richard Freeman gentoo-dev 2003-09-08 19:09:28 UTC
I tried using this ebuild. Everything seems to have installed fine, but when I run the client it can download files but does not play them. It hangs when I double-click on a song title. I'm not sure if this is an ebuild problem or an irate problem.

Comment 3 Richard Garand 2003-09-10 16:52:35 UTC
I think it uses an internal player by default; can you try changing it to use
madplay or mpg123 (in the menus) and see if that helps?
Comment 4 Yi Quang (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-29 19:54:34 UTC
Yeah, playing music does not work for me either.
Comment 5 Kasper Souren 2003-11-16 09:15:24 UTC
Please don't upload tar.gz's. A plain .ebuild is sufficient.
Comment 6 Brian Harring (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-02-06 02:39:26 UTC
Closing, the source is no longer available upstream.

That said, if you're after getting this puppy in, reopen the bug and use the src files, preferably for v0.3
Seriously, if you want it in and are willing to do a bit of testing of it reopen this bug, and I'll give a hand.

Meanwhile, setting it to CANTFIX due to src not existing upstream.

Reopen to dupe.
