Well, I know that this implies more stabilizations as it depends on sys-auth/policykit , the problem is that I have no idea about the plans on policykit stuff, then, I can only say you that I am using since months testing policykit, consolekit and networkmanager and all they work fine. I also tried some days ago to configure a new networkmanager profile for a new router as user "pacho" and I were able to make changes available for all users with a few clicks from networkmanager preferences (that uses policykit) This worked fine on amd64 and x86.
