Having downloaded a recent stage3 release for the i686 platform, upon installing i found that the make.conf.example file is missing, although it is still referred to in make.conf

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. extract stage3-i686-20090616.tar.bz2 according to handbook

Actual Results:  
there is no /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf.example

Expected Results:  
the file should exist, as it is referred to by the make.conf
