Recently I upgraded my ~x86 system to python 2.6, then removed 2.5. When trying to emerge kde-base/dcoppython-3.5.10 it seems the configure script does not check for python 2.6, but only for earlier versions. The (probably) relevant parts (see attachment for a full build log): ---- configure: ---- checking for Python directory... /usr/local checking for Python2.5... header no library no modules no checking Obviously an incomplete configure check. Have fun fixing that - the way kde abused autotools, it's always *a lot* of fun.
Created attachment 190713 [details, diff] Patch for compiling with python 2.6 The attached patch modifies in admin/acinclude.m4.in the macro that searches for the python directory. I simply added a new check for version 2.6. Works fine on my machine :-)
In CVS, well done for the patch :)
