I set up a new native IPv6 (only) full mirror, supporting rsync and http. The server is reachable at (http/rsync)://mirror.opteamax.de/gentoo (IP 2001:4d08::1:50) and connected to Internet with 1GBit. Reproducible: Always
As requested by some users, ftp-support has also been added. BR Jens
mirror-admin: when you add him, please include his IPv6 address in the rsync1.us ACL. rsync1.ipv6.gentoo.org is online now, so just the ACL should be needed.
Hi, For the acl, please add the ipv4 adresses of green.opteamax.de and red.opteamax.de also, as they are the 6to4 proxies. BR Jens
(In reply to comment #3) [...] > For the acl, please add the ipv4 adresses of green.opteamax.de and > red.opteamax.de also, as they are the 6to4 proxies. Will do. Please give me a few days. I'm trying to clear out the back log of mirror bugs before starting on new ones.
Hi, doesn't want to make you hurry ... just interested in the answer ... what exactly means "a few days" ;) *SCNR* BR Jens
Hi, even that I think, there is no too big interest in my mirror, just wanted to let you know that IP-Address of mirror.opteamax.de was changed to PI-address 2001:67c:1420::1:50 ... maybe it'll get listed somewhen ... if IPv4 is also required to get listed, please let me know, we can also speak V4 if necessary... Best regards Jens
As discussed in BUG #319143 added IPv4-Address 194.62.23.99 I'd really be happy to replace the old rsync4.de.gentoo.org with this node and also I'd like to become T1-Mirror if possible. BR Jens
Adding to testing system now since the current testing facility is IPv4 only and now the mirror has that. ;)
There seems to be some trouble in syncing: Portage at rsync://mirror.opteamax.de is lagging (delta is 00d 00h 55m 16s). Jens, could you check?
I changed syncing source from rsync.de.gentoo.org to ftp.ussg.iu.edu hope that helps. If you have any suggestion for a better source (e.g. closer or IPv6 reachable), please let me know. BR Jens
Something is still wrong. At about 0300 UTC: Portage at rsync://mirror.opteamax.de is lagging (delta is 00d 00h 55m 05s) I checked again just now, and the mirror is in sync again.
Hi, from the log I don't see anything unnormal. I adjusted my script to output metadata/timestamp.x before End-Statement to see whiche timestamp I received. Rehi, just to be sure, you are really talking about my mirror: jott@paris ~ $ host mirror.opteamax.de mirror.opteamax.de has address 194.62.23.99 mirror.opteamax.de has IPv6 address 2001:67c:1420::1:50 BR Jens
Jens, the portage mirror has been fine for a while now. The distfiles mirror is lagging.
Hi, ah ... ok that was missunderstanding. In deed, the sync failed, looks like my mirror-source (rsync://mirror.netcologne.de/gentoo) had issues that kicked me off. It seems to be solved since today 12:00 CEST (see log below). Anyways, changed syncing-source to rsync://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/gentoo-distfiles BR Jens ---- sync-log ----- Started update at Mon May 31 00:30:01 CEST 2010 rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104) rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(760) [Receiver=3.0.7] End: Mon May 31 00:30:47 CEST 2010 Started update at Mon May 31 04:30:01 CEST 2010 rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104) rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(760) [Receiver=3.0.7] End: Mon May 31 04:30:47 CEST 2010 Started update at Mon May 31 08:30:01 CEST 2010 rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104) rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(760) [Receiver=3.0.7] End: Mon May 31 08:30:47 CEST 2010 Started update at Mon May 31 12:30:01 CEST 2010 End: Mon May 31 12:32:39 CEST 2010 Started update at Mon May 31 16:30:01 CEST 2010 End: Mon May 31 16:30:17 CEST 2010
As Jeremy requested in the other bug, please provide the following details: * Official mirror name (preferably not your hostname, but the name of your organization) * Hardware specifications * Bandwidth specifications (transfer speed, eg 100Mbit, and any limits you may have) * Location * Intended concurrent users (for each protocol, mirror type) * Admin contact name and email address (This address should be registered in bugzilla so we can CC you to any bug reports)
Organization: Opteamax UG Hardware: Dual Opteron 2344HE, 16GB RAM Connection: 1GBit uplink, including direct connect to Ecix DUS, HAM, BER Native IPv6 and IPv4 Server-Location: Berlin, Alboin-Kontor Currently no limitation on sim-users, may change when load raises to a level making the service laggy Contact: mirrors-at-opteamax.de BR Jens
Hi, Sorry for the delay. Your mirror looks just fine and we will mark it "official" in a few days. If no one else on the team is able to get to it, I will do it when I return on Monday.
Can you please fix your ftp mirror (it requires a username/password)
Shall work now, forgot to allow anon-ftp on IPv4, when I added IPv4 BR Jens
Ok. I can view the directory now, but there isn't anything there. :)
*argl* Please retry ;)
Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added your mirror to our list at http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors2.xml. Please start syncing from masterdistfiles.gentoo.org as the email I have sent to you instructs. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors+subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send out notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Please also monitor http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org as this application is used to keep track of the up-to-date nature of our mirrors. Thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! (information for portage mirror coming up next)
Thanks for helping out Gentoo. I have added the IP you specified in the bug to our access database, please start syncing to rsync1.us.gentoo.org or rsync1.ipv6.gentoo.org per our rsync document at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml. We would like you to subscribe to the gentoo-mirrors Mailing List by sending an email to gentoo-mirrors+subscribe@lists.gentoo.org, as we send our notifications of updates, releases, and changes in policy to the mirrors. Once again, thanks for the hardware and bandwidth! Please also monitor http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org/rsync as this application is used to keep track of the up-to-date nature of our mirrors. You are mirror rsync4.de.gentoo.org in the rsync.de.gentoo.org rotation and have been added to the rsync.europe.gentoo.org rotation as well. BTW. You are the only IPv6 mirror in the de rotation. If that goes well, we will add your IPv6 address to the europe rotation too. Please let us know of any problems. Also, interested in IPv6 usage stats at some point. :)
Just wondering ... in mirrors2.xml im not listed as "Opteamax" but as "Netcologne" ... additionally I didn't receive the info/credentials for portage-mirror-master yet, is it my mailfilter eating the mail or didn't you sent it yet? BR Jens
(In reply to comment #27) > Just wondering ... in mirrors2.xml im not listed as "Opteamax" but as > "Netcologne" ... Oops, copy/paste error. Fixed. > additionally I didn't receive the info/credentials for portage-mirror-master > yet, is it my mailfilter eating the mail or didn't you sent it yet? No credentials needed for that one. It is a simple IP based ACL. (comment #26) I just made a change yesterday so that you can use masterportage.gentoo.org. http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-mirrors/msg_e2a7286aa1c01d3765850d4d26eeec53.xml
