Description René Rhéaume (a.k.a. repzilon, rener) 2009-04-04 03:24:58 UTC
I am trying to update GIMP. GLib must be updated for that. Unfortunately, the iochannel-test fails during the src_test phase, preventing the update.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. FEATURES="test" emerge -1 =dev-libs/glib-2.18.4-r1

Actual Results:
** (process:4250): WARNING **: Could not open converter from 'EUC-JP' to 'UTF-8'
FAIL: iochannel-test

Then the emerge die message "Make check failed. See above for details." is written.

Expected Results:
GLib is merged into the file system.

The command "iconv -l | grep -i -e UTF-8 -e EUC-JP" gives me this output :
EUC-JP-MS//
EUC-JP//
ISO-10646/UTF-8/
UTF-8//

Why the conversion fails when both character sets are present?

I think the biggest difference is the hardened toolchain, is it possible for you to try with a non-hardened toolchain ?
