Support needs to be added for kde-3.1.3 to compile with gcc-3.3
Reminder, gcc 3.3.1 is coming out shortly[1], so perhaps things will change. [1] http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc/2003-08/msg00071.html
Note that all of these patches are in kde's cvs, but didn't get picked up in the 3.1 branch for some reason. I wonder if an email to Dirk is in order here.
to aethyr. While 3.3.1 will probably fix some critical bugs with gcc-3.3 it will not solve these problems. These are caused by gcc-3.3 being stricter in what it accepts as valid c(++) code. That is not a bug though, but caused by a new hand-written parser that will stay.
caleb, I think a mail to kde-packagers is in order indeed. Could you send it?
After a little more examination, it looks like all of these problems have been fixed in kde's cvs, but AFTER 3.1.3 was packaged. I think Dirk is going to release a 3.1.3a in the near future to take care of the kdelibs problem, perhaps he'll release an update to these packages as well.
All known patches applied, 3.1.4 should address all of these build problems (when it's released).
