Description David Pyke 2008-03-14 22:55:47 UTC
I have a bluetooth headset I would like to use with nspluginwrapper and skype. However, due to only the base libraries being in the emul-sound package, I only get ALSA lib pcm.c:2105:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_bluetooth.so when I try to set the sound input and output to bluetooth.

Would it be possible to add that plugin (and maybe others) to the emul-sound package?

Reproducible: Always

I also need the /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_ctl_pulse.so to use pulseaudio with 32 bits apps.
Comment 3 Jannick Kuhr 2008-04-14 03:09:24 UTC
It would be so great if these libs could be included in the package.
Comment 4 Vladimir Lushnikov 2008-04-17 16:31:32 UTC
So what is actually required? This seems to prevent skype from being used on amd64, so I would be glad to help :)

FYI, I get this problem after upgrading alsa-lib to 1.0.16 from 1.0.15. Maybe a simple recompilation of emul-linux-x86-soundlibs can solve this?

This is a feature request and has nothing to do with version bumps. If you're looking for version bumps, check out bug #208796 and please quit adding useless clutter to this bug report.

Thank you

As a get around until this is fixed I got my bluetooth headset to work by creating a 32bit chroot environment following http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/amd64/howtos/index.xml?part=1&chap=2 and installing the most recent skype, bluez-libs and bluez-utils in there.
Comment 8 Olivier Crete (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-05-19 17:32:50 UTC
You're using bluez-utils 3.x right? Not the currently stable 2.x ?
Comment 9 Matthew Urry 2008-05-19 17:50:20 UTC
I get this using bluez-libs-3.30 skype-2.0.0.68 and bluez-utils-3.30 when in the AMD64 environment
Comment 10 Thomas Pasch 2008-05-24 15:28:58 UTC
I'm using bluez-libs 3.30 as well.

soundlibs-20080810 in the tree
Comment 12 Dmitry Grigoriev 2009-09-06 19:19:54 UTC
Confirming. Year passed, nothing changed. I cannot use BT headset from Skype on amd64. "Resolved fixed"?
Comment 13 Michael Gregson 2009-10-04 03:22:59 UTC
This is definitely not fixed. I'm running app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20081109 with net-wireless/bluez-4.39-r2 and experiencing this issue:

ALSA lib pcm.c:2104:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_bluetooth.so
Comment 14 Fabiano Francesconi 2010-01-02 09:44:33 UTC
On amd64 isn't possible run anything bluetooth-ty

This is absolutely not fixed.

ALSA lib pcm.c:2104:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib32/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_bluetooth.so
Comment 15 Fabiano Francesconi 2010-01-02 11:23:54 UTC
My bad.

This is available in app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-soundlibs-20091231

Sorry :)
